Ridley Scott Says Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5 Won’t Happen

Neil Blomkamp’s Alien 5 film will not be happening

It was a planned film which was to continue the story of Ripley, Hicks, and Newt after the events of James Cameron‘s Aliens.

Answering a question from Allocine, Scott was asked if Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5would ever happen and his answer was “I don’t think, so no.”

“I think [Alien 5] will never see the light. There was never a scenario, just an idea that evolved into a pitch of ten pages, I had to participate as a producer but it did not go any further because the Fox decided that they did not want to do it. I had already done Prometheus and worked on Covenant.”

In the interview Scott also says, “There was never a script. It was an idea which was evolved on, I think, a ten-page pitch. And I was meant to be a producer on that, and it didn’t evolve. Fox decided that they didn’t want to do it. so that was it. I think I had already done Prometheus and I was already planning Covenant, so dunno.”

Fox could still change their mind and do this version.Even though Alien 5 won’t probably happen, I’m still more excited about that part of the Aliens story, and im also excited to see what Scott has lined us up for Alien:Covenant.
